M Hand Prize for Hand Embroidery
2001 Terms & Conditions
1. Who can enter the prize? The prize is open to all UK based
embroidery, fashion and textile students.
2. Date of Entries. All work must be received by the Company at their offices at 25 Lexington Street, London, W1R 3HQ by the 31st May 2001. Proof of posting is not accepted as proof of entry.
3. Entry requirements. Entries must consist of one or more hand embroidered samples with supporting work/research and completed entry form. All work submitted must have the entrants name and telephone number on the back of each item. On embroidered samples materials used must be listed.
We regret that any work submitted will not be returned and intellectual property rights in the works are to vest in the Company.
4. The Prize!. The winning entrant will receive an expenses paid trip from their UK base to London. The Prize includes dinner and a one night stay at a London hotel, a visit to the M. Hand & Company, Ltd. showroom, where the winner will collect their cash prize of £500 and the following day attendance of a one day class of their choice at the Royal School of Needlework, Hampton Court Palace. The Prize shall be subject of variation / cancellation, without notice by Hands.

Who will judge the prize?
Representatives from M. Hand & Company, Ltd. (3) The Royal School
of Needlework (1) and Golden Threads (1). The prize winner will be decided
by the judges and in the absence of agreement, by the Chairman of the
judges, whose decision shall be final.
