PRIZE DETAILS

 

All three winners of this prestigious prize will receive:

  • Free flights and 4 nights accommodation in Sydney, Australia, to attend the 'Hand & Lock Embroidery Prize 2007' prize giving and champagne reception at the Powerhouse Museum.
  • Free attendance at the Hand & Lock Conference, 'Embroidering…the future'.
  • One year free subscription of Embroidery magazine.
  • Commemorative framed hand embroidered plaque produced by Hand & Lock's skilled craftsmen.
  • Free advice on business plans from Everett & Co.
  • Work Experience and tambour course at the Hand & Lock workrooms in central London.
  • I year mentoring by the LCF - toward an exhibition (date tba)


First Prize

  • $10,000 USD
  • Entry displayed at The Victoria and Albert Museum, and behind the scenes tour.
  • One day course at The Royal School of Needlework.
  • Work experience at Marion Thomas Studio, and an opportunity to contribute to her next collection.
  • The winning entry used on posters to promote Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery 2007.
  • Dedicated page on the Hand & Lock website, with a biography.

Second Prize

  • $1000 USD

Third Prize

  • $500 USD

All prize winners and second stage students will have a lifetime representation of their entry on www.handembroidery.com

Special College Prize

Madeira UK Ltd will award $1,700 USD (retail value) worth of goods to the highest placed college or university to include the 'Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery' competition brief within their curriculum.
